I'm looking for any kind of critique I can get on this picture. I'm looking to try and better my photography, and I'd appreciate any feedback. I don't know if it looks like there is too much clutter in the background.

Taken with a Nikon Coolpix L110
exposure: 1/11
f/3.5
ISO 400
no flash

Well...the background looks busy-- and on top of that, your composition is leading the eye into the background.

I really like the picture, and I think I can see what you were trying to do. I don't mind the clutter in the background - it's nicely blurred, and you're obviously in a public place so it's not like you can just demand that all that stuff be covered!

The one thing I might have done differently is stopped down just a tiny bit more - maybe f4 or 5 - to get the foreground curve more into focus, without sacrificing the nice blur in the background. Or maybe even just move the camera back a little bit!

The contrast between the focused foreground and blurred rear is really effective, and such a great idea.

I really appreciate the feedback. I really need to work on keeping the background less eye-grabby, but I will try to go back and retake the picture an f-stop lower and see how it turns out. Thanks!
