Default Shadow and light on Spider Petals

I'm new to this, so I hope I'm following directions. I'm trying to get more daring with taking pictures, and I had a thought to take pictures with my Nikon D40 with using just a small LED flashlight. I'm wondering if, when you look at this, you feel that this is a picture of interest. I tried to keep the flower in focus, not cut off the petals and frame it as best I could.

What would be your opinion of this picture? What should I do differently? Put the flashlight more in the middle of the flower, illuminating it more? I was rather drawn to the drama of a black background and this white flower just "floating" there. This was taken in Aperture Exposure, 400 ISO, f-stop 4.5, no flash.

Thanks so much!.

I am just a beginner in photography so I can't comment on tech things. I do really like this photo. Try moving the light more to the center and see what happens. Your eyes usually go to the center of a flower (or at least mine do).
