I took this photo in an old graveyard out side of our town - It is of a soldier i think civil war poss relalutionary war - i used lightroom to desaturate the photo to black and white then color the flag with the eraser. I would like critique on the quality of the photo with the color added in or would it be better all B&W or color - for me i like old cemetaries in B&W. I wasn't sure what exif data to include so i included it all. thanks

i really like the subject of the picture, i enjoy selective color as well. only thing maybe you could do is get on the ground so we see it from a different perspective. get to eye level, or even lower with the top of the tombstone. also you have a little bit brown to the south west of the tombstone. just touch it up to bring it back to black and white. i would love to see this from an angle we wouldn't regularly see it from. TFS.

thanks for the input I will have to try a different angle- the cemetary is fairly close to where i live so I will plan on going back and trying getting on the ground and looking up at the stone and such
this was one that hadn't been broken, alot of the headstones were in pieces (whether from old age or vandilism i am not sure)

yes no problem, i am in no way an expert or anything but it stinks to have your work up here and nobody help out. i'd love to see the second try and even if you took some pictures of crumbled headstones. i think it's an amazing subject and can really tell some incredible stories. good luck!
