Arrow Rustic Chair in Black & White

RusticChairBW1-1

I actually sat and waited for the light to be right for these shots that I took of this "old" chair on our property this morning. I took a whole series, which you can find on my flikr page, but I think this one is my favorite. I used LR3 for crop, conversion, deepened the shadows a bit, and dropped down the brightness on a few where the light was a bit TOO bright on the top of the chair.
Feedback I am looking for: thought on the composition/crop? How is the lighting? How did I do with PP (this is a weak area for me)?

EXIF:
Cannon Rebel T3
lens EF-S 18-55mm
focal length 48mm
f 5.6
exposure 0.013 (1/80)
ISO 100
Flash did not fire
WB auto

Experience here tells me that since I'm getting lots of views, but no feed back, it is either: that good, that bad, or that boring...

Anyone want to chime in? I rather doubt it is that good, so if it is bad or boring, what would you do differently?

it's my favorite out of the pictures for that series. my opinion of the chair may be different than other peoples opinion, i think they are all really great.

maybe seeing if you can pull up contrast and really show the rustic nature of the chair.

I felt guilty...LOL, I was viewed this post maybe 4 or 5 times, to ease that guilt feeling, here it goes.

Honestly, looking at it for the first time does not catch any attention because;

the image appears to be flat and boring, maybe you can try another angle, like shoot it in 45 degrees showing the entire chair, how it looks like as a whole.

the black and white conversion is a bit muddy, maybe you can pull more contrast.

exposures are fine, the only problem is the composition itself, and I think a horizontal orientation is much better with this type.

next time try to move around your subject, shot in different perspective in which the ordinary eye can't see.

Keep on shooting, hope it helps

Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I did take multiple shots in the series; you can find them here: black and white - a set on Flickr

Here is one of the whole chair in horizontal orientation:

I did go back and pull up the contrast on this one, and definitely like the look. Thanks again; I love to learn and value others' opinions of my work!
