It's usually very helpful to those who want to comment on your photos if you include your exif data (as stated in the forum rules). This is mostly your shutter speed, and aperture, focal length and camera can also help, as can whether a flash was used. You can find this information, usually, if you look at the properties for the file of the photo on your computer.

Did you pan this photo to keep up with the train? You did a good job of keeping the point of focus on the drivers area.

For me, the photo appears a little bit under exposed and a bit dull in colour. I would try to increase the brightness, the contrast, and then if necessary the saturation to make the colours on the train and grass a bit more vivid.

It is a shame the sky was so grey when this was taken, it's hard to see the steam. and when you brighten it the sky will probably become quite blown out and harsh. Maybe you could use layers to only brighten the train and below.

Hi,
Thanks, just the kind of feedback I was hoping for, I will try the adjustments you suggest, and will in future post the exif data. FYi on this occasion It was a Nikon D90, set up F22, 1/40 sec lens at 18mm, No Flash and taken in RAW.
Thanks
Simon
