First let me welcome you to DPS. It is nice to have you here.

Now as to your photographs.

#1. Can't tell if it is a girl or a boy so if your goal is a picture of a running girl then it won't get it done. Composition is just ok as it really is stunted and lacking in creativity and context. Exposure is fine.

#2. Much better, Can tell it is a girl (and she is cute too). Composition is really pretty good. Subject is prominent in the frame. Subject has context with surrounding building and has a direction that leads the viewer through the photograph. What I don't like is that you cut her off at the knees and this removes information. I can understand the choice of focal length if that is what you had to work with. But a 50 1.2 will let you get a lot closer than you were and still get all of the subject into the frame. Exposure is fine. A little more open on your f/Stop to blur the background would be a good thing.

#3. Sky is blown completely out (bad except when used for a purpose) to the point that her blonde hair is blending in with it. Blase' composititon ( a photojournalist would shoot this way) Jk to you PJs out there.

Tell us why you are shooting this subject?

Also, this thread will probably get moved to comparison critique as it is a comparison of three shots. So, if you can't find it when you come back look there.

Jim

It'd be much better if you could post one photo here for us and then link to the rest. Much easier to critique if the photo is on one page!

Thank you for replies!

(i tried to edit post and add image) but it doesnt work ( )

Sky is blown out. I know. I was shooting in Shutter mode and did everything very fast , so esposure is not right. How you manage to get shoots like that where all dark parts and light sky properly exposed? Do i need to set exsopure for sky ,then lock it and then shoot my object? I tried to correct exposure for sky in CS5 but its nearly impossible..
I will learn from it that i have to set correct exposure for light and dark objects in the frame (just not shue how to do that)

The photos were done on the way to park ,nothing special i just wanted to try to capture action photos.

The easiest way to shoot and not blow out the sky is too expose for the sky and use fill flash to bring out the subject. Second easiest way is to use a ND filter to bring down the sky. Third is to compose the shot without the sky in it. Fourth shoot at the golden hour or twilight or the break of dawn when the sky is your friend.

Jim

P.S. to add an image you need to copy the url of the image location and use the icon to insert the image from your photobucket acct. Also only make the image no more than 700 pixels on its longest side. So "medium" will probably be best.

And If you do post a image for critique only post one per day for the entire critique section, (you can post a link to more images if you want) and you are good to go.

So is Opanki your nickname? Or do you just like shoes?

Running portraits are tough, and you'll probably need to pan&scan with the camera to get it just right. I would suggest using "all focus points" when shooting a running target. I was surprised at the accuracy I got from a moving target with that. ONce you get the hang of it, you can use more focussed points
