Default Autumn lane

While waiting for my daughter to complete her chess tournament, I saw this photo opportunity at a local school. I am completely new to dSLR photography and would appreciate any comment on this shot. A subject (person) walking down the path would have been perfect.

Nice shot and some great potential there. I think I would like to have seen more of the trees on the left and less of the fence - it has a more natural look to it. Also did you try crouching down to take the shot, at the moment this looks like you just stood there and snapped a shot. Getting lower to the ground would added some depth to the scene and drawn the viewer along the pathway.

Great capture and looks like a great opportunity!

I would have framed a little more of the trees, as mentioned. But I would keep the fence.

Only since there are a lot of leaves on the base of the image... a little too much since its taking up about 40% of the image with just leaves

Thanks for the possitive replies!

@NgaiHill: I actually did crouch down for the shot. The fence is about head high and the camera was about 30cm from the ground. But I see your point of view (hehe).

@justin_ing: The fallen leaves does occupy too much of the picture

What do you think of this crop?

I like this one much better... but I would crop less fence and just a bit more leaves.

Still a great image, just being fussy

Maybe pop up the vibrance like +5 to see if the leaves and trees pop a bit more
