Default March of the Innocent

Product photography for my wife...

added the the words for personal photo... product photo has NO words on it... please help critique on lighting and its effectiveness and does it make an interesting product you want to buy? how's the dof? enough? or you want more?

concept is soft and pretty as it's a children's shoes... hence the soft lighting and the fur

additional: does the quote fit the image? personally i think it does... just wondering what you feel..

Camera Nikon D7000

The shoes are adorable and I like the soft lighting and fur. Part of me thinks both shoes should be in sharp focus because I think there is something we are missing about the tail on the heel with it being out of focus.

I don't like the wording on the photo.... either of them. Both quotes seem preachy to me, which is a complete turn off. Aside from that what I don't like about each:

"Every life is march from innocence" should read "every life is a march from innocence"

"Through Temptation to Virtue or Vice" - I really dislike the notion of the words Temptation and Vice being used in association with children. Temptation on it's own might be ok if it were a picture of a kid staring down a cookie jar when mom's back is turned..... but mentioning it in the same sentence as the word Vice and it takes on a whole ICKY feeling. These are just my opinions, others will no doubt see it differently

I think the picture is adorable, but as a product photo I think you need either a deeper depth of field, or at least to show more of the side of the shoe (or the second shoe) to see the shape and style of it - the characterisation is great, but a product photo should reveal a little more about the procduct.

As for the wording, I somewhat agree with the previous comments, but how about just leaving it as

"Every life is a march from innocence."

You don't need the other bit, and you especially don't need it in a big fat font in the black border!
