Default Southern Cross Skyline

I took a trip to a local graveyard the other day and managed to get a few decent shots. But this one wasn't so great. I hadn't brought my tripod as it was an impromptu visit and the sky was quit overcast but brightish so I shot quit wide open and fast to minimize camera shake.

The picture ended up very flat look with the sky being close to blown out. I ended up do some saturation adjustments on the sky and desaturated to the background in order bring it back to life. Looking at it now I should probably clone out those lines running across it too.

My question is..does it look believable, as if that is actually what I saw before I took the picture? or does it feel over processed to you?

If anything it feels under-processed. There are no real highlights, and the foreground is extremely dark. I think some careful work with the dodge/burn tool could help you here. The good thing is your ISO is low, which gives you a good amount of wiggle room when it comes to exposure vs. image noise.

I'd probably bring the whole image up by about half a stop, then go in and do local adjustments with dodge/burn.

Better, but it still looks dark to me.

I like the crop and adjustment, and especially the fact you took out the lines. The tombstone could be brightened by itself, even if you leave the rest alone.

Well, it's a nice shot...

But I think that the background is too dark and it seem that the beauty of the object is not so emphasized....

I think the first picture is too flat. The cross doesn't stand out much from the background. In the second image the saturation of the background looks too unrealistic. So, somewhere in the middle
