Default Flower Still Life--Please Critique

I like the colours that I used, however, there is something missing to give it more emphasis. Maybe I should have used more props instead of a single unlit candle? My photo is attached.

Wow, what a colourful bunch!

Personally I find the background a bit too fussy for these colourful flowers. Maybe these flowers with a soft background, or possible this background with a monochrome bouquet would be better. I also think that the angle would be better if you were to get down more to their level.

Yep, background is overpowering your subject. And as Bax said, viewpoint is the same as what everyone else does so it kills your composition. When both of these issues show up in a photograph there will be no emphasis on anything. Keep working at it but go simple and try different lighting arrangements to get your drama into the photograph. Jim

Yeah, there's definitely too much going on in the frame for my taste. Also, the perspective seems a bit odd? I don't see why you're shooting down on it so much.
