my concern was the focus of this shot and whether the twig in front of the larger leaf took away from the shot. feel free to critique any other aspects if you wish

I like the colors of the photo, but am of the opinion that the twig does take away from the larger leaf. sorry newbie so of no help with any of the technical stuff just yet...also it makes me think of a long winter's day spent looking out the windows of my nice warm house.

I am not an expert but this is my opinions in this shot.

1. there is no great contrast between the background and the subject, the golden brown tone of the subject is nearly blending to its sorrounding.
2.yes, the twig infront of the big leaf is distracting and it gets more attention than the leaf itself.

have you try to shot from the lower angle with clouds to be the background?
