Default Tractors in the Parade!

Afternoon everyone, This is my first photo post on the forums as i have been a avid reader for a while now.

I took this picture last summer in a very small town during their "Family Days" I was able to get right out into the parade to shoot some pictures and have some fun.

Here is one of the ones i really enjoyed

What do you think of the angle and setup of the photo?

Camera: Canon
Model: EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi
ISO: 300
Exposure: 1/250 sec
Aperture: 9.9

Hi and welcome to the posting side of DPS :-)

I like the angle you used here and the fact that there's no motion blur which often happens with moving vehicles.

I do think if you changed the orientation of your camera so the width is longer than the height, you could have left some space in the direction the tractor is moving to avoid the slightly cramped feel you've got. Also if you'd done that you would have had the tree line on the top third rather than almost in the middle.

The cars are a little distracting, but off course with a parade you get no choice of where the tractors are going to be driving. I also kind of wish the driver's hand wasn't right in front of his face, but that's a very minor thing.

Hope this helps. Keep shooting and enjoy it

There's something in front of the driver's face.

It looks like his hand.

I don't mind portrait orientation here, you have a nice cloudy sky (the clouds almost look like they're coming from the exhaust, which is cute), and I'm sure that cut out some really messy background of parked cars. But not being able to see his face kills it.

Perfect, things to pay attention to for my next pictures, I never really though of the face being hidden, but you are right it would have made the photo a lot nicer.

Thank you for the comments!!

so maybe this one would be a better shot then? ( i don't like the copping on it)
