Default Billy's Guitar

Billy's Guitar

Camera Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Lens Type Canon EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4L
Exposure 0.25 sec (1/4)
Aperture f/4.0
Focal Length 80 mm
ISO Speed 1600

I take all my photos with no flash, so this one was a challenge. It was taken in very low light on a covered back porch. I would appreciate any comments/critiques/advice.

Thank you

Hi i almost really like this i think with a better composition this would be a cracker, i like the idea of the shot but you have clipped the tip of the guitar, I think i would have liked it if you moved to your left with a landscape orientation and focused on the guitar and hands only. Still liking it though

Thanks, Gunner. I was using continuous shooting and I got several shots from this angle. I had some that included the end of the guitar, but they didn't have the unique light streaks that this one did, so I went with it.

It's close....to me the biggest issue is not that the tip is clipped (but might be better without) it's that there isn't anything "defining" in the image....Every "step" in the image has the same movement and exposure so there isn't really anything for the eye to lock onto.
I think it could be helped in post by bringing down the highlights (they draw the attention) and emphasizing the guitar head more.

SK66- You know your post is ironic. I brought up the highlights in post because I liked the increased emphasis on the light trails.

Funny thing, photography.

I appreciate you taking time to look at my photo.
