Default Edsel

I took this picture the other day of one of 4 old cars in the small town where I live. This is a 1958 Ford Edsel. I like this picture but not sure about the composition. Does it work? Is the tree on the right distracting? PP included upping the contrast and lowering the saturation. Thanks for any C&C as I am pretty new to photography!

Ford Edsel

I like this; I'm old enough to recall when Edsel Ford invented this Titanic oval grill design. And I think this image captures the aftermath very well indeed, including the leafless tree to the right; that actually adds to the message, in my opinion.

I like the rust, I like the rule of thirds positioning of the headlamp; and this takes the place of an animal eye, by the way, I think. I just like the visual image and the message it conveys.

So, in summary, I like it as is. Nice job, in my opinion! If this is what you can do not knowing anything about photography, as you claim, look out when you do learn more !!! LOL

PS - From the state of the vehicle and its consequent inability to move rapidly, I'd say you could have done with less than 1/250 and translated that into stopping down in aperture. That generally gives better depth of field, not that that was an issue here.

I find myself coming back to check out this picture. When you get a chance, I'd suggest you try re-shooting it in various scenerios of lighting etc. while you are learning the ropes. It's a great subject.
