I took this photo a while ago when I was out in the desert. I was just wondering what everyone was thinking about the low angle and the composition.

Dont mind the angle too much. But the hill in the background kills the whole thing. Can you retake it with just the sky in the background?

x2 with windrider.

you also need to get a little more even lighting on the whole truck and more importantly increase your aperture to get more of the image in focus.

I love the texture in the foreground but I find that cactus in the right to be distracting. My eyes keep going over to IT instead of the subject-your truck.

The low angle makes it interesting, if you were closer up to it, the truck would appear more massive and in control.

I like the low angle but find the truck is competing with the sky. I think, given the colour of the vehicle, that it would look better with more terrain in the background rather than sky.

Thanks a lot for all the input guys. I'm sure I can put some of it to good use. I just had a question for windrider86 and gturner. I was wondering why you guys don't think the hill in the background works. I understand why the cactus in the back is distracting, but why is the mountain?

I find my eyes are drawn to the peak of the mountain which then leads my eyes down the righthand side of the moutain and off the side of the photo. Just my opinion though.

Regards.

It doesnt act as a "filler" background. Since its only partially filling the background and its totally in focus its taking away from your main focal point.
