Default Spiral

My son went on his first college visit this week at Robert Morris University in PA. I saw this staircase and knew I had to shoot it. I really thought it would be a nice pic, but in the end it doesn't do a whole lot for me. Is there something I could have done differently to make this staircase pop, or is it just an uninteresting shot?

I think this is a nice archetectural shot as is. If you want it to "pop" more, maybe you could try making it B&W in post processing and perhaps playing around with the contrast to make it more "abstract". Just a thought, but I like it as is.
