Default Refelction

Hi,

I liked the reflection of the trees/boats in the water. Is there anything that could have bettered the picture? Did a bit of colour enhancement and sharpened the picture in Picnik. I use GIMP as my PP software. How can I improve the bald sky which distracts one from the picture using GIMP?

I’m certainly not an expert yet as this is only my second post and I’ve only had my DSLR for about 2 weeks. One thing really jumps out of this picture for me, the colorful boats. I’m not sure if you have the correct editing software to be able to do this but I think it would be interesting to see this in black and white with only the color left on the boats.

I think selective colorization is not the way to go with this. but I have never really agreed with the concept. images are black and white or colour, not both. That said, It could be interesting to see the boats made more of the focal point with a bit of cropping, and increasing the saturation in the sky and adding a litle blue to make it look like a really bright day would be the easiest, but remember, what ever you do the the sky, you have to do to the reflection, but to a lesser degree.
