Default Could this be sharper?

I'm trying to figure out if this could be sharper? I had to use an ISO of 800 bc of low light and that is also why I used autofocus and not manual...plus no tripod. Maybe these are my problems exactly...not sure though...input would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't look sharp, and it is not just a focussing issue as nothing is sharp..

It looks like your shutter speed is much too low hand holding.
At 50mm without an image stabilised lens I would be shooting at 1/50 at least. With an IS lens I would not go below 1/15 second for consistent results..

I would move the focus back just slightly, you seem to have focused on the very front of the middle ball, which puts alot out of focus. There is also an element of camera shake, I think a tripod will definately be the answer here.
