Post Let there be Light!!

Hello everyone,
This is my first post and it's a critique request.
How is the photograph's composition? Any improvement areas?

There's too much empty space on the left in my opinion..
try using the rule of thirds or the golden spiral

While the flame is exposed perfectly, the rest of it is too dark. All I can really see is the edge of some kind of bowl with a flame on it. It would be nice to see some context of where this is or what it is.

It is an Indian oil lamp. The bowl part holds oil with a cotton wick dipped into it. A small end of the wick is exposed over the edge and lit and capillary action does the rest.
I do like the pic in a minimalistic sort of way. Would make a nice Diwali greeting
