I never normally shoot with such a shallow depth of field but found it impossible to get a stable shot without such a wide aperture although only a small area is in sharp focus.

A few people have told me they don't know what the picture is of, I suppose thats probably due to the fact that it is a picture of the rather small Christmas scene decoration thingy !
And Mr Moderator guy have I done something wrong ? As I am a little confused about you posting the rule/guidelines in the thread ?

The idea was for you to read them and see what information you were missing that should have been posted. I'll give you a hint to, exif information is very important. Especially with the question you are asking. Knowing your camera settings plays a HUGE part.

Ever so sorry I fully understand 'Mrs' Moderator :P
I'll add the EXIF data as best as possible soon as it was shot with a manual lens so EXIF gets a little confused.
