Default critique my exposure

(and anything else you think needs pointed out)

Journey

Canon S3 IS
F/4.0
SS 1/640
ISO 80

this was my submission for the weekly assignment "journey." I adjusted my SS for what i thought looked good, and was surprised that it was so fast. the only edit i did was saturating the colors a bit in iphoto. my camera will not let me adjust the exposure + or - in manual mode so i used a "custom" mode. i'm a newb, so let me have it. I will take all the advice i can get.

Exposure looks pretty good to me - no blown highlights and lots of shadow detail.

Actually the entire point of manual mode is so you can adjust the exposure + or - by changing the shutter speed and aperture directly. For example, in this shot, if you changed to f/5.6 or 1/800 the exposure would've been darker. f/3.5 (if possible) or 1/500 would've made it lighter.

I don't think there's any problem with the exposure in the shot
