I felt so good after taking this shot some time ago, but then a friend of mine (photographer) told me i shouldn't be proud of it, and that I should take it down. I dunno, but I still feel proud of it.
The thing is, being a learner, who hasn't been able to do a class or anything as yet, I don't know what I'd do to improve it. Perhaps in post image editing, I can change the heavy blue light, but I felt that added to it, so this is the picture as I took it. I think it is a visually interesting pic. It would have been nice if the ghosting light or flare or whatever the white blotch over the image is was not there but there's not much you can do about that after the fact.
The pic reminds me of the movie "The ring" looking up out of a well. If you are proud of it, then be proud of it. There will always be critics. Maybe your friend has a different aesthetic they like in photos and yours are different. I would never discourage someone from liking a picture. There is no right and wrong answer. |

This picture was actually taken against teh background of a flourescent light bulb. I had just returned from a business trip, and stumbled upon this gigantic spider web in my kitchen as I got home.
Just before I took it down, I snapped this pic - but I thought the light bulb in the background might help the aesthetics. Maybe I was wrong... |
