I currently have the most beautiful clump of Pacific Coast Iris flowering in my garden. I grew them from seed and are one of my favourite plants. I am trying to get that perfect shot but I feel as though there is just something missing or or not working!
![]() Nikon D90, 18-105mm zoom lens f/6.3, shutter 1/250, focal length 92mm, ISO 400 Unedited. I have a few more shots of the same clump here - Pacific Coast Iris seedlings Fiona and her Bucket Full of Photos I like all the shots I got, but they seem a bit flat... They were taken around 3pm on a cloudy but bright day. All advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. There are still a lot of flowers to open on this particular clump, so I plan to take any advice and try it out asap! Thanks Fiona

Thanks for that.
I don't like doing much to them after I take them off the camera. I know it is a bit like using a dark room, but at the moment I want to concentrate on improving my shots using the camera. I have had my slr for a while but I still class myself as a beginner. I'll have to check on the wb. I changed it a few times taking these shots. It's either auto or sunny. I've been playing a lot with diff wb settings lately. Unfortunatly it has rained all night and these iris are now a bit soggy. There are more buds to open though so fingers crossed tomorrow is better. I might have a play later with Photoshop and try your suggestions anyway. Thanks! Fiona
