Hello everyone. Obiviously, I'm searching for thoughts and critiques of this shot but I was also wondering if you can tell me your favorite photographer? I want to read more about the pioneers of the field and those artists that are a little weird and innovative.

Thanks in advance.

Two documentaries available online (one's on YouTube, the other is partly there, but Google will help you!) are "Ways of Seeing" and "The Genius of Photography." I recommend them in that order, too. They're both slightly different perspectives, and a little long, but each gives an interesting examination of art and photography. The latter examines the history of photography, and explores the works of several photographers.

As far as specific photographers, the list is fer too long and varied to be thorough here.

In searching for photographers, I often google a subject or a style of photography, and then start looking at whatever comes up. It's a great way to find contemporary photographers that you won't find in history books.

In regards to your image, I would use a wider aperture to make the depth of field smaller , to create more focus on the subject. You could also vignette the image around the subject to draw the eye to it more.
