Looking up a tree

I liked the look of this tree so I decided to snap a few pics of it. How is the composition? Any other critique?

Hi there -

I like your shot.

Some of the highlights are blown out, so you might want to try to tweak the exposure or compose it in a way that some of the brightness along the right isn't in the frame.

I think you have the makings of a really cool image though!

I like the composition but would like to have seen more of it, if not all, in focus. Also the blown out sky is a bit distracting. If you have the chance to take this again try for a more blue sky day and try for a greater depth of field.
Like the colours of the moss in the trunk leading to the colours of the leaves higher up.

Thanks for the replies! I do wish I had more of the tree in focus, especially the closest part... at the time I took it, I didn't know as much as I do now about DOF (or anything). I definitely could have got the exposure better as well - I did try fixing this somewhat in PP, but it was pretty bad in the first place... I will try again sometime and see what I get.
