i wanted to try and take water every day to try different things with lighting how does it look what should be different what would you do there are 2 in this set i cant figure out how to link to it this is the only way let me know if it doesnt work Last edited by skylashell; 09-09-2010 at 06:12 PM. |

If I could suggest anything, it would be to shoot lower. Your timing seems pretty good, for catching the drops mid-air. But it's a little difficult to separate them from the rest of the water.
About the lighting: It's usually better to light as much from the sides as possible, as the water will do a great job of dispursing the light through itself, and seem almost luminescent. OK, maybe not 90º to the side, but still from the side. Also, the side lighting will help give it a bit more depth than a flash mounted on the camera, giving a centered reflection down the front of the ripples and drop. Beyond those two things, I'll say keep experimenting, have fun, and the best way to follow my suggestions is to not listen to them and prove me wrong. Otherwise your water shots might start to look like ones I'd take
