Lillys In Close Up

HI! Im new to this site, seems amazing. I am also pretty mes to Digital SLR Photography, so I'll probably be on here a lot looking to get better. My question about this shot is: Is it too busy? The main flower caught my eye from across the courtyard, but it seems that there is too much stuff i the background that takes away from it. I love the picture, but I would like some ideas about the composition. Thanks! (Of course, any other critique would be great too

well, I'm no expert but I think that maybe yeah.. it is a bit too busy for me. I would try to crop it a little tighter..seems like a bit too much empty space in the top of the picture IMO. Pretty colors though

By the way, do you call it a lily? I am wondering if it is called orchid.

Actually, they are stargazer lillies at the local state college. And thanks for the input! Like I said, I love the colors and such, but something about the framing put me off.
