Default B&W Learning technical

I'm learning the art of B&W but I'm never satisfied with the results I get.
What do you think of this b&w?
How could I improve it?
Is the picture worth?

Nice photo but it seems too dark. The horn gets lost in the background. I feel that each photo has a perfect edit. I'm not sure if BW is perfect for this photo or not, primarily because I haven't seen the original. Color or a different BW convertion method might make the horn pop more.

yes, I agree, it is a bit dark....I like the black and white but it needs a lighter background in order to see the horn better

This would be relatively simple to achieve in something like Photoshop...simply select the instrument and adjust it/the background separately.
