I am thinking of entering this image in a local competition and am wondering about the position of the bench being in the centre. Should I crop the bottom to put the bench nearer one of the thirds or are rules ok to be broken in this case? I have also manipulated it in Photoshop to achieve the dreamy look.
Any advice/critique welcome. Exif: Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250) Aperture: f/4.5 Focal Length: 23.1 mm ISO Speed: 100 Polariser filter

People put too much faith in the rule of thirds. Photography is intuitive. We need to tune that little voice in our heads that tells us when the image is right, and this one is right where it should be. If you can darken the blue in the sky just a bit with a curve, go for it, but it's not essential.

I don't mind the proportions, My issue is with the light area in the foreground...Cut it out or darken it so attention is focused on the bench.
