Well this is my first time ever messing with any type of post processing. I downloaded gimp and have been lookin for tutorials for it. After finding one on messing with the color, I decided to try it. So I guess for the critique part I just wanna know what you guys think of how it came out. Are there things I could have done better with the color? How bout the shot itself, should I focus on a different part or a different angle? And anything else you guys can think of, Im a beginner with photography so anything and everything is welcome. Thanks!
Camera- Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XS Exposure- 0.004 sec (1/250) Aperture- f/5.6 Focal Length- 23 mm ISO Speed- 400 Exposure Bias- 0 EV Flash- Off, Did not fire

Selective color is a very common effect and, as many other posters will tell you, it is often done by those just starting to edit their images. Your flower is beautiful but (even with the edit) it is rather lost in the sea of other flowers, stems, and leaves.) I might try cropping the photo to highlight the flower. I'd like to see this in full color. I could probably give you some editing suggestions but I've never used the Gimp so I couldn't really walk you through anything.

Thank you Lightwriter for the tips, the're much appreciated and if I can remember where I saved the photo I will try the cropping it lol. I do agree it seems jumbled among all the other stuff. Also, you can explain some of the things if you don't mind, I can always just google how to do them with Gimp. Thanks!
