Default Home of Turner

I have been an avid user of point and shoot cameras, but this is my first DSLR and I am very much a newbie to photography. I took this picture on the side of my house during the late evening. I have a Canon Rebel XS and used a EF S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. The settings I used were ISO 100, focal length 36mm, 1/100 sec at f/4.5, and no flash. Please give me any pointers you may have. Again I am a beginner and need to learn, so critique away!

Be a little more specific on what you want critiqued in this picture...I think you'll get more response. To me there's not much to the picture....just a good way to practice depth of field and such. So kudos for practicing!

I see you want to capture the sign "house of turner". Perhaps shooting this in another angle will be more interesting and will prevent overexposure.
