Default Leaves in the sun

Taking some shots tonight and I ended up with this one that I really liked. My question is on the compostion. How is it? Do you think I could improve it by cropping differently? Also, are the bright leaves in the background too distracting?

Composition looks a bit busy. Do you have a macro lens? This would be a good shot for a macro lens. Look at the upper leaf with the water drops on it. It is one of the few leaves that has focus. It is blown out. You main focus point should not be blown out.

Also look at your ISO and shutter speed. Shoot at the lowest ISO that you can. Shooting at higher ISO will lower image quality and introduce noise into your image. Your shutter speed was a 1/1600. Using the reciprocal rule, with a 50mm lens you could have shot at 1/60 while safely hand holding your camera.

Single-Serving Photo – Focal Length Reciprocal Rule

If the scene is not bright enough, use a tripod.

Work on being a good technical photographer before you become a creative photographer.

Keep on shooting

Thanks
