Default texture-first attempt

hi guys.. this is my first attempt on texture photography..
I'd very much appreciate any kind of comments or critique espicially on the cropping, colours and composition..

Looks like a moonscape I like the side lighting and the detail is good. Is the monotone due to the lighting and the subject or have you done that in PP?
And go on, tell me what it is

hmm yeah it's monotone due to the lighting.and actually I increased the saturation a bit..
it's a wall...and the bubbly thing is actually the paint.hahaha..
