Apple Shine

Hey everyone, this is a shot of an apple that I did a close up on. What do/ don't you like about this shot & how do think that I could improved on it?

Its a nice and I like the idea. The light coming from the back left of the image is distracting. Also, add some saturation to the photo or find a better "apple" (lol). A nice RED one against the white would be nice.

I, too, find the light in the upper left distracting. I'd also prefer a simpler photo, maybe just the apple and the paper? The shine on the apple is really nice, though!

My first question would be why you chose to go with an ISO of 800 when you seemed to have plenty of light. That said, the light seems a bit flat, maybe boosting the contrast a little in PP would make the apple pop a little more.
