Just playing around with my camera...having an awful time with focus...I'm too hyper I guess. Anyways how is the focus in this picture and any other critique you would like to share. Thanx for looking and I appreciate the feedback.

Sheila,

Any time you shoot a transparent object with the auto focus turned on, the camera will have problems. If you can turn your auto focus off and manually focus. This gives you more creativity. Focus can be a creative variable in photography. I personally like that the background is slightly out of focus and the one blade of grass, in the front, is also out of focus. But that is my taste. What do you like? A camera has lots of adjustments that allows you the photographer to be creative. Take the camera off of auto and learn to adjust the aperture and shutter speed and depth of field for your creative purposes.

Learn to see what the camera see's and use that to your advantage.

Be an artist, not a recorder.

Thanks

Joe

Thanx for the excellent feedback Joe...I definately want to get off of auto mode...and I also need to trust my artistic side. Get a bit overwhelmed looking at all of excellent photographers on this site. Worry too much that I'm not doing something right. So thanx ...I'll let the artist in me out!

"Worry too much that I'm not doing something right."

Back in the film days, every time you took a shot it cost you some money.
But with digital, it costs you nothing to try a new concept, make a mistake.

You should see all of the mistakes that I make when I shoot. ;-)

This is the fun of trying new things, who knows, a mistake image just may turn out to be a winner.

On of my best selling stock shots, was done just for fun, it took me 30 seconds of just playing around.

Thanks

Joe
