Default What do you think...

This is a photo I took 2 weeks ago, and I took it I knew what I wanted to do with it. I really like it, but i don't know if it's something others would appreciate. Does it just look drab, and it didn't work, or does it look interesting.

I was hoping it would come out looking kind of dark and abandoned, with a bit of eerieness.

I don't see anything drab in this photo at all. There is lot to look at and to interest me. Its a shot that many people would just walk by without realising there was a shot there. Well done.

Thank you, that helps a lot. Sometimes its hard to tell if what you can see...or think you see, is something others would, and would appreciate. Thank you, at least I know I'm going in the right direction.

I'm glad I found this place.

Except on the rarest occasions you want good tonality in a black and white image. That is, you want a pure white and a pure black with lots of grays in between. You have done that well here and captured the suffused light that makes this so interesting. For that reason I don't think we can call it drab, though the mood of the image is somber. What I would encourage you to do from here is to learn how to use the underlying colors to make tonal adjustments to your black and white image. For instance, I think I might consider toning down the bucket a bit. You want it to play an important role in this image but I feel like it is playing to big a role. You may find that making those subtle adjustments you can really make this 'pop' they way you were hoping.
(If you aren't sure how to do what I am suggesting, please look at this video for a great tutorial on the subject.)

Honestly, I love the image but, the bucket in it isn't doing anything for me. Nice job, though.
