![]() This is the view of the sea from a beach. I tried to use distance focus through reflection and use a smaller aperture for the blue color of the sea in broad daylight (otherwise it was turning out to be a white patch). Location: Bangalore, India Camera: Canon SX20 IS Shutter Speed: 1/125sec Aperture: f/5.7 ISO: 80 Metering Mode: Pattern Exposure Comp: 0 Marco: Yes |

I have found several issues in capturing reflections. Please help me with your sugesstions:
a) How to adjust the manul focus; Mostly while focussing thru a reflective surface the area of interest is pretty small and it is also important to show part of the reflecting surface to some extent b) The issue again raises eyebrows to focussing capability: The CanonPowershotSX20IS has a 2.5inch display (but I prefer to use the eye viewer), but then all the cameras have a similar display. Due to this a scaled down version of the entire scene (thru the eye viewer) looks to be in focus even if its slightly out of focus. In cases of reflection it is even smaller c) The reflective surface is sometimes not clean enough to give enough respect to the composition: Many times its not possible to clean it up. I feel awkward with such shots d) Sometimes while capturing reflections; I unknowingly block the light. Is there a better way to look for angles while picturing reflections? e) Any other tips ... |

If anyone has this experience on this please help.
I dont want to blame my gear (Canon PnS SX20IS), the only one I have. But if you really think I can get better results with SLR, please suggest (may be sponsor one for me :P) -Vielen Dunk |
