I am anxious to get your corrective critism on this photograph. I used the following equipment - Canon 40D with EF 50mm 1.4 USM, Speedlight 580 EX II, 430 EX.

I don't have any issues with the picture per se, but what was the inspiration for the shot?
There isn't much detail in the shot that says "Gibson SG"....The upper beveled edges and the horns are the most distinctive SG features. If you are only going to show a small part but still try to convey "the whole" you should focus on the things that are distinctive.
