Default Night Shot in the Rain

Hi All,

Well I've not posted for a long time and this is my first entry in the critique section. I've recently purchased my first DSLR (Nikon D5000) after getting frustrated with the lack of input I had with My Samsung WB500.

I therefore thought I would start with one of my favourite shots. Taken on Shutter priority mode. I'm playing around with full Manual mode as well but without any fantastic results at the minute.

Is the composition and light effective enough? I was looking for a somber feel with the rain but at the same time a sense of the world going about it's business.
