Default Bike in Stockholm

Hi everyone!

As many of the people who post in this section of the forum, I'm new to photography. I took this picture yesterday when I was walking around my neighborhood and after I saw the bike I thought I should give it a try. Here is the photo after I tried to edit it in PS.

After

Camera: Nikon D90
Aperture: f/11.0
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Mode: Auto
Focal Length: 45mm
Flash: Did not fire

I wonder if I could get some tips not only about the technical stuff but the composition as well. Thanks in advance!!!

Great bike parked in a great spot. I think this is a well done shot. Not knowing what more of the surroundings were like, I would have liked to see more of the setting around the bike...meaning a few steps backward would give this capture more impact. Also a tad more contrast might add to it as it is.

Thank you very much!! I´ll keep that on mind the next time I take my camera with me to take some pictures!!

I have read a lot on the internet about aperture and exposure and that kind of stuff, but the hardest part for me seems to be how to compose the image.

Thanks for your comment.

great shot, have to agree with freezefame, a tad more contrast and perhaps a bit more of the background..

What editing did you do in Photoshop? I'm liking it!

Don't feel bad, composition takes years to master. I will tell you this, though, I would chage anything about the composition of this shot. I disagree with anyone that thinks cropping or including more would make this a better image. No, this composition is very simple, but also very effective.
I do think you could make a few minor tweaks in Photoshop or GIMP. I ran it through my usual process, increasing the color content and the contrast a bit, but aside from that, I wouldn't mess with this. It's a winner just as it is.

I agree with Lee. The composition works well for me. I do agree with the suggestions to add more contrast.
