Default Beautiful White Flower

How is this? I am quite new to photography. I took this with my 18-55mm Kit lens. Initially I thought I had over-exposed the image. But looks fine to me now.

Please let me know how I could have improved on this photo.

I like it! The only thing I could say negative about the shot is the light hitting the branch in the background, I find it detracts from the main subject. I believe the composition is good and in no way is the photo over-exposed.

You could also possibly have got the whole bud in on the right side of the frame or taken it out all together? I'd have gone for in as it would add a story to the picture (from bud to a flower).

@ Luckysticks .. Thanks. You are right about the branch in the background. I didn't notice that before until you pointed that out. And yes the bud. Thought of cropping that out after taking the photo. I haven't noticed these things while taking the photo at all. I think I should be more composed before taking a photo. I some times try to hurry into a shot and make these mistakes.
As you can see I am quite new to photography.
