I spent time critiquing this last night then the site timed out (it was late). Then there were 66 views and no comments, this time there are 70.....shame!

Ok! here are your settings:

Camera: NIKON CORPORATION
Model: NIKON D3000
ISO: 400
Exposure: 1/60 sec
Aperture: 5.3
Focal Length: 48mm
Flash Used: No

Look to the left of your photo in Picasa where it says 'photo info' then click on 'more info' and Bobs your uncle. You'll notice your ISO was actually 400 and not 200.

I would have shifted round to the left and down slightly when taking the photo. This would have removed some of the dark shadow in the right corner and also showed more of the red in the cup. You'll notice the reflection of the sand in the cup as well, a little more of this would have made the subject more interesting to the eye.

I would also have brought the whole subject into the frame a little more. I like the effect of the sand mound slowly going out of focus and this would have been good to see both sides of the cup.

The white of the inside of the cup is too much in my opinion and the move down would have helped here as well.

I appreciate your try but for me, it doesn't appear visually appealing for my taste. I agree that the white interior of the cup takes too much attention. Surely, finding another perspective will make the subject interesting. Just my two cents.

Cheers!
