I am new to photography. I have had my Canon XT for 5 months now. I am open to all kinds of tips and ideas, but bare with me, I am still learning a lot of the terminology. Also I really like this site.

Yorkshire Terriers are so photogenic aren't they?

I like the photo! The nose and tongue are very sharp and the light isn't distracting. However, the left eye looks slightly out of focus to the right. I tried looking at it on your Flickr for a larger view but you have it set on private.

Not sure how you could combat the left eye (no doubt the dog wasn't sitting still), slightly larger aperture to sharpen more of the facial features? complete novice speaking here so I could be barking up the wrong tree (no pun intended)

Looking at the larger photo both eyes are slightly out of focus so it doesn't matter so much now. Although having the eyes in focus is always good.....you can see the soul through the eyes so I understand.
