Very nice first post!
I think you're on to something here but a few things are holding it back...unfortunatly theres a bit of clutter in the photo. In particular that water heater tank is a darn eye magnet! Also the woman, who i would think would be the primary subject, is out of focus. The light stable floor leads your eye out to the end but there isn't anything there to see...
With a little tweak here and there you have a very nice image.

Just to add to what's already been suggested, I think more contrast would help this photo as well. The horse is getting lost in the building with such similar tones.
