Yesterday a group of coworkers and I stood out on a freeway overpass to pay tribute to a soldier who was being laid to rest. I did my best and was slightly annoyed that the only angles I could think to use were from the side, back or down. I just wanted to hear some criticism, good or bad, on the pictures. Please copy/paste the link to flickr to see all 20.

Looks a bit noisy.
That is my only critique. Kepp on capturing pictures and keep on uploading here at DPS.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert
I love the composition and the shadow of the fence on the subjects as well as the flags. I do think the photo is a bit noisy. I am not sure what is in front of the lady with the black shirt (near her arm) but it is distracting and takes away from the photo.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have a question though, what exactly do you mean by "noisy". I'm new at this and haven't quite gotten the terms down yet.
Createbeauty: Thank you for pointing out the flag in front of the woman. I never noticed it. These are things I need to start paying more attention to. thank you. |

Noise refers to the blotchy, colored grain that is visible mostly in darker areas of a photo. It becomes much more visible as the ISO is increased. In your photo, it can be seen clearly on the the green shirt and on the the lady's hand.
