Hi everyone,
I took this photo at the beach a few months ago and keep coming back to it. I converted to B&W...what do you think about composition? And the shot in general. ![]() EXIF Color/bw: Black and white Flash Used: No Focal Length: 250.0mm (35mm equivalent: -21... Exposure Time: 0.0003 s (1/4000) Aperture: f/5.6 ISO Equiv.: 200 Whitebalance: Manual Exposure: aperture priority (semi-auto) |

I love the composition. I'm not too certain about this conversion. Do you have the original that we might be able to play?

No critique of the composition but i don't think you're going to improve the shot with PP. Correct me if I'm wrong but this looks like a great concept, contrasting the innocent child with the powerful wave.
If that's so then you had too small an aperture. You need the wave sharp as well as the baby. Get the kid in front of the tsunami and go for f/16 and I think you will have a much better image. The kid may get washed away but every great photo has a price.

I agree, too bad the waves aren't in focus as well. I like the b&w conversion but I think it could be better if more contrast is possible.
