Hi all
I really can't make up my mind about this photo, hoping some of you can help. I like the colours and the light/shadows but is there too much black in the picture? Also, does it look 'flat' , should I have taken the photo from a lower position or tipped the guitar back slightly? All comments appreciated. I would agree with this. The shadow has straight lines, which jar against the smoother curves of the bass.

Thanks for all your replies and comments. I can see now how this could be improved - will try to take again and re-post results.
Thanks again! Sue |

I agree with the others that the shadow in the lower left remains unexplained and unnecessary. And in answer to your other question, yes, the image would most certainly be more dynamic if the guitar was tilted. I don't know how important it was to have the word "Shine" clearly visible; this could limit what kind of angles you take. I am not, however, bothered by the negative space above the guitar. Our job is to make sure thes spaces assume interesting shpaes and that is clearly the case here. Overall this is a wonderful shot that needs only a bit of tweaking to be a real treasure.
