Default Is it an art studio or a witch attic?

tower
1/5s, F/16, ISO200, Nikon D60

Interested in what you think about composition, b&w conversion and little part of roof that is visible left of the tower, in the lower end of the photo. Should I remove it?

What I did: Duplicated background as layer, set opacity to 30% and blending to overlay, flattened the image, converted to black and white using red filter, and played a little bit with levels...

Also, did I made a mistake while converting, should I use some other way of achieving contrast and clarity (instead of flat grayscale images) other than the one used here?

I like that you made this one a B&W. I like the portion of roof remaining as it helps to anchor the tower. My only recommendation would be to crop out a good portion of the sky to the right of the tower as this seems to be too much empty space and give the tower less impact.

Thank you for the comment. I will experiment a bit with the crop.

I love the empty space! The texture of the clouds is a nice offset to the rough texture of the tower
