The caterpillar blends into his surroundings so well, that he isn't seen immediately. The orange/pink bloom at the bottom of the photo is seen first. A closer look brings the caterpillar into view. I like your DOF, so I'm thinking a closer crop around the caterpillar will help the photo as well as eliminating the distraction of the flower in the background.

Hi Freezefame! Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I did crop the picture and noticed a big development and impact. It really boost up my confidence! Now I am more interested to take a lot of shots than before. Thanks again.

Hi man2die4,

What a great subject! Well done!

I agree with freezeframe that a trighter crop will help this image. Also, I would suggest playing around with the exposure/brightness and contrast sliders. I think that you might be able to darken the background and keep the caterpiller bright so that he/she comes forward from the background.

Really nice image!

I'd agree about getting closer, at first I couldn't see the caterpillar! Kansai Greenie's tip of playing with exposure/brightness is a good idea, also if you were to shoot it again use Spot Metering on the caterpillar.
