ot sure I am fond of the black and white for this one. For me the pastries need that color to make you feel like you want to pick one up and eat it.
Watch the front ones as they are not pointing at the middle pastries. By having them point another direction it automatically makes your eye wander away from the center

The composition is great. We always want lines in our image to point in the direction of what is most important and you have numerous lines pointing twoard the middle, which is also where the most dramatic lighting is. However, one of the things we usually want in a black and white image is a subtle gradation from deepest black to brightest white. Your image is hindered by the fact that it starts at deep black but doesn't go much higher than middle gray. If you have access to PS or similar, this is handled with the 'Levels' adjustment. Below I have made that adjustment so you can see what it would look like. ( I also gave it a sepia tone look. I tend to prefer b&ws with a slight tint.)

Thank you both for the comments. I went for B&W because this photo was taken before baking, so there was no colors that would make you eat one... And, Leer, I can see what you did there, and it does look better, thanx. I will try to play with levels a bit more in the future.
